If the player has a hand with a value of 15 points and the dealer has a Jack – his face down card has not yet been revealed, the player may lose if the hand he draws is too strong.
It is desirable for the player to surrender. Thus, the player limits his losses by agreeing to leave half the amount wagered, to the casino. “Surrender” is effective when the player already has a hand whose value is too high: it is an adequate solution in which he can preserve his budget a little.
